Solar Power & The "Son"

I've been in central Oregon this past week testing out my dwelling place on wheels and learning how everything operates. I also rendezvoused near Sunriver with a dear friend, Dave Pearson, from Wrightwood, CA. Our paths crossed some 25 years ago on the Crow rez. We've been in touch and supporting each other ever since those days long ago.

From Sunriver, I made my way north to Hood River, OR, and crossed over the mighty Columbia River to White Salmon, WA. Why, you might ask?

. . .  to harness the power of the sun.

I met up with an RV tech (Les Farber) who specializes in solar systems. He solarized my RV so that its operating systems can function from the power of the sun. It affords me the ability to "boondock" for extended periods of time, to be disconnected from outside and foreign sources of power and rely solely on self-contained and indigenous solar power.

Solar = pertaining to or deriving from the sun

I suspect some of you know where I'm headed with this. Think about it in terms of life and faith. Being made in the image of Creator, we've been designed for "divine solarization." Therefore, on a personal level, I recognize that my innermost being is fashioned to be a dwelling place pertaining to and derived from the "Son."

Here's three translations taken from Hebrews 1:2-3a that I particularly like and are very illustrative here:

But in these last days, it has come to us through His Son, the One who has been given dominion over all things and through whom all worlds were made. This is the One who—imprinted with God’s image, shimmering with His glory—sustains all that exists through the power of His word. (The Voice)

. . . in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. (NASB)

[But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order. He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God’s] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. (Amplified)

Son = through Whom all things were created, sustainer and upholder of all, the exact representation of the divine nature, the perfect imprint, shimmering with the radiance of God's glory, out-raying of the divine (the list of descriptors is nearly endless throughout scripture).

Wow!

Now hold on to your seat. If we are the creations of the One through whom all things were conceived and have been stamped with the divine image, then we are, in a sense, the very dwelling place of this One . . . the Son.

Therefore, it's not so much our destiny to harness the power of the Son as it is to simply, yet profoundly, radiate the rays of the Son, to be a reflection, an image, a mirror!

In botanical terms, heliotropic flowers literally turn to follow the sun. We, too, are heliotropic by nature. In other words, Creator wired us in such a way that our most innate stirring is to follow the Son.

As we follow the Son, we reflect and mirror the divine image be turning our lives in the direction of the Son, just as you would face a solar panel in the direction of the sun. This enables it to receive, collect, store, then release solar power into a dwelling, a home.

But what's even more amazing, and probably most difficult to grasp or even believe, is that the Son is our very life . . . deep within our innermost being. So, not only do with follow, receive, and reflect, we are "out-rayers," we radiate the very life and light of the Son!

Once you realize that you have been pre-wired for the Son and solarized, there's only one thing left for you to do . . .

Shine!!
